Program Description:
The Master of Public Health program is a 2-year, 48-credit program involving traditional coursework as well as a special project, either a practice-based internship or a research project. All students present their special projects û both orally and in written report form. These presentations require consideration of your project in the larger context of public health as a cross-disciplinary field. All faculty, students and preceptors are encouraged to attend and engage in lively dialogue about the studentsÆ projects. Concentrations - Biostatistics, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Public Health Management and Policy, public health practice, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. Special Project - The special project is designed to give students the opportunity to develop hands-on skills in addressing a public health concern in their concentration area. The type of project is determined by the concentration area chosen and must be approved by the student's supervisory committee. Accelerated Program - A 42-credit program that can be completed in 12-18 months on a full-time basis or longer. This program is limited to health professionals who possess the terminal degree in their fields. This degree is typically at the doctoral level, but for some health disciplines, it may be at the masterÆs level.
