Program Description:
Our department includes 17 faculty positions with about 350 major students in all programs. We can match your interests with faculty interests and research areas to create a program that focuses on meeting your professional goals. As a graduate student you will gain the knowledge and skills to help individuals, families, and the community to promote health and prevent disease at all ages. Some of the skills you develop include advocating for health education, conducting needs assessments, planning and evaluating health education interventions, creating instructional materials using health informatics and information technology, using appropriate instructional strategies, conducting research on program effectiveness, writing scholarly and professional papers, and working with public and private organizations and agencies to help people lead healthier lives.
