Program Description:

The Physical Therapy Program offers two options, Traditional and Weekend College (WEC). The Traditional Program is a six year program with a bachelor's degree being received at the end of the fourth year and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree received after the sixth year. The Weekend College Program is designed for individuals who are licensend physical therapist assistants with completed baccalaureate degrees. After successful completion of less than three years of graduate study, students in the WEC Program also receive a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.


The University of Findlay’s Physical Therapy Program offers study in this dynamic growing profession in a small town atmosphere. From the time you begin taking classes on campus you will be assigned to a physical therapy faculty member and continue with him or her as your advisor throughout your time on campus. Our class size in the traditional physical therapy program is small with a maximum of 32 students. Our weekend class size is a little larger with 35 students. Students are our primary focus.

Come meet our faculty many of whom are currently practicing clinicians with advanced specializations in a variety areas of practice and in addition possess doctoral degrees.

Our graduates have consistently displayed licensure pass rates well above the state and national average. The employment rate after graduation is also near 100%.

Accreditation:

The Traditional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). The PTA to PT program offered in the weekend college format is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

Eligibility Requirements:

Minimum overall grade point average of 3.0, and a minimum science prerequisite GPA of 3.0.
Complete a total of 100 hours of observation in two different physical therapy settings, with a minimum of 20 hours in each setting.
Completion of the Physical Therapy Central Application Service (PTCAS) and Traditional Program application materials.
Criteria such as science GPA, recommendations and experience in the field, community and professional involvement are also considered.
Students enrolled at The University of Findlay are given special consideration.

Evidence of having graduated from an accredited PTA program (transcripts may serve as evidence). Weekend Applicants Only
Evidence of completion of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution prior to beginning the professional program.
Minimum of one year of work experience as a PTA prior to applying.
Completion of the Weekend College Physical Therapy Program application materials.
