MA Theatre Practice: Directing and Actor Training
Format: Campus
Program Description:
Our unique Theatre Practice postgraduate programmes cover practice-based work in theatre and can be taken either as an MA, full-time over 1 year or part-time over 2 years, or as a 2-year full-time MFA.
The programmes appeal to a range of prospective students: practitioners who want to develop their practice; graduates who are planning a career in arts education (schools, colleges, universities); and those who want to look more in depth into aspects of drama they have enjoyed and benefitted from through undergraduate studies.
This pathway offers the opportunity for engagement with the practices and methods of a range of approaches to directing, training and performance. Through collaborative and individual practice, you will explore intercultural perspectives on the body and forms of performance, physical training for performers, documentation of performance, and an in-depth independent research project of your choosing. There are additional opportunities to participate in workshops and masterclasses run by respected international practitioners.
The programme is of particular benefit to directors wishing to extend their range of knowledge and experience of working with performers, those who wish to explore and develop training methods or those wanting to produce performance work examining areas of interest.
