Program Description:

Based on the latest research, this MA programme gives you the opportunity to explore ethical theories and debates relating to important aspects of society such as politics, the environment, economics, science and sexuality.

The programme provides a combination of modules focusing on ethical, religious or social thought in the ancient or modern world. It is designed to make you think critically about the ethical basis of action and the relationship of ethics to social and religious contexts.

The MA involves a variety of disciplines providing you with the opportunity to study with faculty from other departments including Classics and Ancient History, History, Politics, Sociology and Philosophy and the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies. You will be able to choose from a wide variety of modules offered within these disciplines in addition to Theology and Religion, providing the opportunity to shape your degree to suit your particular interests.
