Program Description:
This course provides a platform for students wishing to understand international economics and politics from an interdisciplinary perspective. As well as international relations theory, students have access to a wide range of economics and international relations options. This course provides general, advanced training in International Relations. It is broadly based and gives the opportunity to sample from a wide range of optional units. It provides training appropriate to those seeking employment in governmental and non-governmentalorganisations and international institutions, such as the UN. This course provides for study of International Relations at graduate level together with an introduction to the European Union. The first semester focuses on an historical and political survey of European integration, before providing more detailed information onsocial, economic and foreign policy analysis of the European Union in the second semester. Given the rapid pace of change in the EU, the course equips students for a wide variety of emerging opportunities in government, international affairs, journalism and business.
