Program Description:
The Health Services Administration (HSA) program is designed to educate knowledgeable, multi-skilled current and future healthcare leaders.
The Health Services Administration program is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level positions as well as middle management or clinical supervisory positions in organizations, institutions and agencies that deliver health services.
Students are provided a strong foundation in management with a depth and breadth of applications to the health care system.
Many undergraduate students transfer into HSA with some college credits or with an associate's degree in areas such as respiratory therapy, radiation technology, physical therapy assistant, dietetics and exercise physiology. The program is designed for college students and adults who have job and family responsibilities but desire to earn a Bachelor's degree. Students may complete their 126 credit degree in as little as two years. Upon successful completion of the program, a Bachelor of Science degree is awarded.
This program is also available at the University Center at Macomb Community College in Clinton Township.
Graduates hold positions such as internal auditor for Medicare payments, supervisor of billing and reimbursement, director of community relations, claims adjustment supervisor, office manager and regional manager for clinic services. They work for organizations such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Hospice of Southeastern Michigan, Trinity Health Corporate Office, Health Alliance Plan, Eli Lilly, Wyeth, and virtually all of the Metro Detroit hospitals.

Eligibility Requirements:
In order to be admitted to the Health Services Administration program, applicants must meet entrance requirements of the University. In addition, to gain acceptance to the program students must fulfill the following criteria:
**Undergraduate Transfer**
Transfer students must
(1) have minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.00 and
(2) complete UDM placement tests in English composition and mathematics.
**Conditional Admission may be granted to those students whose academic achievement falls below the standards required for full-admissions status. In such cases, the applicant may be required to fulfill course work and/or conditions before full-admissions status is granted.

All course work completed outside the U.S. and Canada must be formally evaluated by either the World Education Services or the Educational Credential Evaluators. A course-by-course/detailed evaluation report is required by the University of Detroit Mercy.
