Program Description:

Graduates from Curriculum and Instruction programs enter a variety of educational careers, often in leadership positions. Our students have become teachers; master teachers; professors; consultants to educational and business institutions; curriculum developers for museums, national parks, school districts and zoos; school district administrators; headmasters of private schools; and leaders of education-related nonprofit organizations, both inside and outside the United States.Classes for the MA and PhD programs are offered Monday through Friday in the late afternoon or early evening, keeping in mind the needs of working adults. Programs are individually planned around students' backgrounds and career goals.Other departments and on-campus service programs, such as the Ricks Center for Gifted Children and DU High School, provide valuable and easily accessible resources to students.In association with the Ricks Center, the Institute for the Development of Gifted Education provides opportunity for research and publication, professional development, community outreach, and curriculum development in relation to educating gifted children.
