Program Information
Degree Offered
M.S.E.-Music Education
Program Description:
The Department of Music supports a summers-only master’s degree program in music education. It is offered through the School of Education and Allied Professions as a Master of Science in Education with an interdisciplinary concentration (music education concentration pending approval). The design of the program allows students to complete the degree in three summers (approximately 10 hours per summer). To ensure the program is “teacher friendly”, all required music courses occur in the summer. However, degree candidates can take required education courses and/or special projects during the school year.
Eligibility Requirements:
Results from the GRE or MAT are required for applicants with an undergraduate grade point average below 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Students may wish to submit copies of their Praxis results and current licensures, if available. Including copies of these documents will help to more efficiently process the application.
