Program Description:
Completion of the program requirements for adolescence to young adult education leads to provisional teacher licensure in the state of Ohio for grades 7 through 12. Candidates must complete approved licensure program course work in one of the following teaching concentration areas: earth sciences, integrated language arts, integrated mathematics, integrated science, integrated social studies, life sciences and physical sciences.
Concentration requirements also include professional education coursework. Candidates must pass the required Praxis II specialty area exam(s) prior to the clinical experiences. Candidates must also pass the Praxis II Principles of Learning and Teaching prior to licensure.
Candidates may choose to complete the master's degree after completing the requirements for licensure by completing the core requirements for the master's degree. Student teaching hours will not count toward the 30 semester hour requirement for a master's degree.
Eligibility Requirements:
Results from the GRE or MAT are required for applicants with an undergraduate grade point average below 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants may wish to submit copies of their Praxis results and current licensures, if available.
