Program Description:
The Microbiology Graduate Program at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center is a Ph.D. Program that is oriented toward basic research in molecular microbiology and the molecular pathogenesis and immunology of infectious disease. Based primarily within the Department of Microbiology, the program faculty also includes members of the departments of Immunology and Neurology, the Division of Infectious Diseases, and the nearby National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine. The faculty is a diverse and productive group with areas of research interest that include the molecular mechanisms of bacterial and viral pathogenesis, the molecular biology of bacterial, viral and cellular gene expression and host-parasite interactions in infectious disease.
