Program Description:
The graduate program in genetic counseling is a two-year academic program of didactic and laboratory courses, and extensive clinical experiences. The overall objective of the program is to prepare students to work in a number of different settings as knowledgeable, competent, caring, and creative genetic counselors. Graduates are eligible to apply for certification as genetic counselors and may work with physicians, biomedical scientists, and other health team members in hospitals,clinical genetics services, laboratories, or other health care and research sites. The program is fully accredited by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
