Program Description:
The Counseling Program strives for national excellence in implementing an ecological counseling perspective through service todiverse populations, emphasizing under-served groups. The master's programs in counseling focus on excellence in service delivery. Master's students may specialize in either School Counseling (MEd) or Community Counseling (MA). Graduates of the School Counseling Program who hold a valid teacher's license and have the requisite teaching experience may become licensed as a school counselor. Community Counseling graduates who have earned a total of 90 graduate credit hours in counseling with an appropriate distribution of courses meet the training requirements for licensure as a Professional Counselor (PC) in the State of Ohio. With an additional two years of supervised professional counseling experience, the PC licensee can be upgraded to aProfessional Clinical Counselor (PCC).
