Program Description:

The Harris School stands apart from other policy programs in its interdisciplinary and empirically oriented approach to the study of public policy - a characteristic that permeates the School's teaching and research activities. Our flexible programs provide students with extensive preparation in economics, statistics, policy analysis, and organizational theory, as well as training in a substantive field of public policy. Our mission is two-fold: 1)to conduct policy-relevant research adhering to the highest standards of social science and to train talented individuals for professional leadership careers in public policy; and 2)to teach the skills that enable student to research complex policy issues, formulate policy alternatives, and evaluate how policies by governments, agencies, and organizations affect society.
