Program Description:
The Master of Arts in Teaching is an alternative-certification program designed to provide a base of sound theoretical and pedagogical knowledge for post-baccalaureate students interested in the teaching profession. Middle School and Secondary School options are available.
The program can lead to the IPC teaching certificate in Missouri.Based on the five propostiions from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, the program provides information and skills in best practice instruction to become a master teacher. Courses are delivered both on-campus and online.
Accreditation:
All graduate programs at UCM are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Teacher Education programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

Admission to the Teacher Alternative-Certification program is required.
