Program Description:

The Construction Law programme is designed for construction and legal professionals with an interest in developing knowledge and application of construction law for practical use in the workplace. It combines face-to-face contact with the course team and electronic distance learning technology to provide flexibility of learning to suit individual needs. The programme places considerable emphasis on the application of the law in problem-solving and problem-avoidance situations within the context of the construction industry. Widespread use is made of case study material and real-life scenarios. You will be able to participate in mooting sessions, dispute resolution workshops with high-profile DR contributors and presentations which will further develop your ability to formulate, propose and defend an argument. The MSc stage of the programme enjoys accreditation with the RICS and an application for accreditation with the CIArb for 2011 is pending).

Eligibility Requirements:

Entry requirements for postgraduate courses vary and you are advised to check below for any specific requirements or with Enquiry Management. Normally the following general entry requirements apply:

Postgraduate Diplomas, Certificates and Conversion Courses:
A recognised British first degree or its equivalent, or a BTEC Higher Diploma/Certificate.

Taught Masters Courses:
A recognised British honours degree to a good standard, or its equivalent. Applications from all candidates will be considered on their merits and in the light of the nature and scope of the programme or work proposed. Informal enquiries are welcomed and will normally be followed by an initial advisory interview.

Industry experience may also be accepted in lieu of professional qualifications or first degree.
