Program Description:

The Graduate Certificate in Contemporary Humanities is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on contemporary western and non-western concerns. By encouraging students to develop unique, cross-disciplinary perspectives on how contemporary trends, such as advancing technology and globalization, affect who we are and what we are becoming, the Contemporary Humanities graduate certificate has the potential to affect scholarly inquiry in both humanistic and non-humanistic fields and to serve Central Florida, a site of rapid technological and demographic change.Faculty in the Department of Philosophy teach the core and selected elective courses. Other courses, focusing on some particular area of inquiry in Art, Anthropology, Communication, English, English Education, History, Liberal Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Spanish, Theatre, Woman's Studies, are taught by faculty in those departments and disciplines.

International Student Requirements:

In order to enroll in graduate classes, students must have obtained a baccalaureate or higher degree, prior to the start of the term for which the student is admitted, from a regionally accredited institution or from a recognized foreign institution. International students are not eligible for nondegree/certificate status unless they hold an eligible visa. International applicants are encouraged to begin the application process early. Also, international applicants should ensure all supporting documents, including those required to issue an I-20, are received by the stated application deadline.
