Program Description:

UC's qualifications in Child and Family Psychology are designed for students who wish to become registered psychologists and practise as child and family psychologists. In their first year of the two-year MEd(ChFamPsyc), students study papers in child and adolescent disorders, paediatric psychology, and psychology and counselling. Entry to the second year is highly competitive, and in their second year students undertake professional development, a research dissertation, and work in practical placements in varied settings. A further internship year is available for students who wish to gain the postgraduate diploma, which leads to registration as a psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
