Program Information
Degree Offered
Ph.D. - International Economics
Program Description:
The PhD. Program in International Economics offers three distinctive features: (1) the incorporation of international questions and concerns into the entirety of the economics curriculum, (2) stress on institutional knowledge andhistorical contexts, building on a strong foundation in modern economic theory, and (3) the language requirement. The curriculum treats both micro- and macroeconomics from an open economy perspective. Specialized fields such as industrial organization, public finance, and labor economics focus on behavior and adjustment in an interdependent world economy: students are trained to research current and emerging international issues in taxation, industrial policy, environmental regulation, market structure and similar subject areas.
