Program Description:
The major objective of the program is to train students in sociocultural approaches to understanding health behavior and health-related problems, and in the comparative study of health and healing systems. The role of the anthropologist in contemporary Western health settings is a particular focus of this program. The emphasis here is on preparing students for careers in research, teaching, and service, emphasizing anthropological perspectives in health-related issues. We accept applications every other year.
