Program Description:


The TEFL intensive certificate program is designed to prepare teachers who have no formal training in TESOL or TEFL and would like to seek employment abroad as English language teachers. (ESL is usually taught in English-speaking countries and EFL is taught in non-English-speaking countries.) The practical curriculum allows teacher-trainees to teach second-language learners from the very first day.
Faculty consists of professionals who teach in UCR Extension's International Education Programs. Participants may communicate via e-mail for up to one year with mentor teachers who can help with any lesson planning or curriculum questions.
Each program session is limited to 16 participants, and each teaching practicum is limited to eight trainees. Instruction includes:
