The Ph.D. degree program prepares individuals for teaching and scholarly positions in academic institutions. Small and highly individualized, the doctoral program allows students to pursue their own areas of interest. Candidates are expected to work closely with The Paul Merage School of Business faculty members and, when appropriate, with faculty from other academic units on campus. Admission is highly competitive, and only full-time study is allowed.

The doctoral program reflects the School's philosophy that a broad and cross-functional orientation is necessary to appreciate complex business problems that extend beyond the narrow confines of a particular discipline. Eligibility Requirements:

To apply for our program, the applicant must specify an area of specialization. The areas of specialization in the PhD program are: Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Marketing, Operations & Decision Technologies, Organization and Management and Strategy. At the Merage School, PhD candidates are considered carefully as individuals and as future research partners. We evaluate their performance in their business and academic careers, and their potential to become valued members of the Merage network of global scholars and business leaders.

International Student Requirements:

The most qualified & competitive international students admitted to our PhD program typically receive 3 years of financial support paying non-resident tuition, registration fees, & a monthly salary associated with Research/Teaching Assistantship(RA/TA) employment. RAs/TAs must work an average 20 hrs work/week. Our financial support offers are highly competitive with the number of awards based upon our available resources. International students are responsible for their tuition + registration fees for the entire duration of their doctoral studies, whether paid by personal resources or by a financial support package provided by the Merage School of Business. Currently, an estimated minimum of $44,951 (subject to yearly increases) per single foreign student is required for living and educational expenses for the nine-month academic year (three quarters).
