The goal of this combined program is to provide future teachers with a deep knowledge and the planning mastery needed to assess and implement effective teaching models. Our MAT graduates are consistently recognized as leaders in their teaching discipline & exceptional teachers of our children. They are seen and highly qualified & respected having earned a degree from the prestigious University of California. An MAT graduate is exceptionally prepared to make a difference in their classroom & in their school at-large. In conjunction with the MAT program, UC Irvine offers three (3) different credential programs from which you will choose one program to follow: i.e., the Single Subjects Credential for Secondary Teaching, the Multiple Subject Credential for Elementary Teaching, or the Intern Teaching Program. After receiving the MAT & having taught for several years afterward, our graduates report back to us that their MAT education and training at UCI Irvine provided them with the cutting-edge knowledge and strong skills needed to realize their full potential and become more effective & successful in their positions. Whether you are new to teaching or a seasoned veteran, UC Irvine's MAT program might be right for you.
