Program Description:

The Program in School Psychology at the University ofCalifornia, Berkeley, offers a MA . and PhD. grounded in the scientist-practitioner modelof education and training in psychology, has prepared students foremployment in public schools, universities, mental healthclinics, and a variety of other work settings since itsestablishment in 1965. A four-year sequence of academic coursework subscribing to a developmental model and field practica inBay Area schools and mental health clinics leads to the Ph.D. andthe California credential authorizing service as a schoolpsychologist. At present, the Berkeley School Psychologyprogram is the only school psychology program in California tohave received accreditation from the American PsychologicalAssociation.
