Program Description:

The Program in Applied Mathematics is a broad-based interdisciplinary program offering MS and PhD degrees. The aim of the Program is to train students in the use and development of mathematical and computational tools and to apply them to solve real-world problems. In addition to a rigorous program of core courses, students are offered a flexible program of study tailored to their particular interests. Most importantly, they are offered at the earliest opportunity the chance to pursue research activities in the mathematical, physical, life, and engineering sciences under the supervision of faculty who are associated with many colleges throughout the University. The Program sponsors a variety of seminars, colloquia, lecture series, workshops, and conferences, all of which are considered an integral part of the graduate training program.
