Areas of specialty: Feminist Theory, Culture of Southern Women, Feminist Pedagogy. Alabama's Women's Studies program is in its 28th year, and the M.A. program has been graduating students since 1989. Interdisciplinary in scope, with participating faculty from numerous departments and disciplines, the program's focus is on research, publication, career and advanced degree placement for its graduates. Graduate teaching and research assistantships are available.
