Ed.S. in Secondary Education Science Concentration

Program Description:

The Educational Specialist in Secondary Education with a science concentration online degree program offers the unique opportunity for individuals to become leaders in science education in their local regions. The EdS Degree in Science Education is designed to help science teachers advance their certification, become more effective instructors who facilitate student learning through action research in their classrooms, enhance their competency to design curricula with meaningful science content, plan and implement professional development programs, and evaluate ongoing school change. The program is also designed to provide competent science education leadership throughout individual school systems and the region. It is designed to advance the careers of post-masters science educators who not only teach in secondary or postsecondary school systems, but also for those who work in other science-related fields, such as science supervision, who wish to pursue their interest in science education. Those who possess secondary education science certification at the A level (AL) may use the EdS to apply for AA certification.
