Program Description:

Programs in early childhood education deal with children from birth to grade 2. The program is suitable for those students who wish to obtain New York State certification to teach bilingual students birth-grade 2, those who already have initial teacher certification before entering the program, and those who aspire to complete both a master's degree in bilingual education and early childhood certification requirements. Pending federal funding, special training rants are available for eligible students studying bilingual education. Certification titles include:Initial/Professional (Initial Certification combined with a Master's degree): This includes preparation for initial certification, and a Master's degree.Professional (Master's degree): This degree in combination with other New York State requirements will help teachers obtain professional certification.
