Program Description:
The graduate program in classics includes Greek and Latin literature, ancient Near Eastern languages, ancient history and archaeology, linguistics, and philosophy. First-year students will be given the opportunity to strengthen their proficiency in the classical languages and to survey methods, content, and problems over a wide range of classical studies. More emphasis will be placed in subsequent years on development of specialized areas of interest and on independent investigation.
