The graduate curriculum in sports management is designed to prepare students for careers of leadership in the field of sport and recreational management.
During the course of study, sports management students gain expertise for multi-faceted sports careers in the fields of facilities management, information technology, front office administration and community recreation. The program provides students the opportunity to garner knowledge and develop skills though coursework and mentorship experience within the sport industry.
The Sport Management program has received program approval/accreditation through the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) and the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE). The Academy’s program is one of a small group of academic programs nationally that have received this program approval.
The United States Sports Academy is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Students interested in pursuing the Master of Sports Science degree in Sports Coaching are required to have a bachelor's degree from a 4-year, regionally accredited institution. It is not required to have a degree in a field related to coaching. Students can be admitted on a conditional basis if their bachelor's program is not regionally accredited and their GPA does not meet the required 2.5.
An applicant interested in pursuing a Doctor of Education in Sport Management degree may be accepted from a
variety of backgrounds. For full-standing admission to the doctoral program, an applicant must hold a master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution. A student who has graduated from a recognized, non-accredited
institution may apply for the doctoral degree program only as a conditional student.

International Student Requirements:
International students interested in the Master of Sport Science program are required to have the US equivalent of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. All transcripts must be certified by a NACES member organization. A satisfactory score on the TOEFL or IELTS is also required.
International students interested in the Doctor of Education in Sports Management program are required to have the US equivalent of a master's degree from an accredited institution. All transcripts must be certified by a NACES member organization. A satisfactory score on the TOEFL or IELTS is also required.
