Program Description:
This Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program has over 40 faculty located in both basic and clinical departments of the School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU). Research areas include molecular, cellular and behavioral neuroscience of neuronal and glial development and plasticity; brain and spinal cord injury and repair; demyelinating diseases; neurotransmitter/neuropeptide processing and function; basic translational, and clinical neuroscience of mental illness relative to stress, injury, and environmental adaptation. Civilian full time students in the Ph.D. program do not pay tuition, generally receive stipend support, and do not incur service or government obligation for their education.
