Program Description:

The degree program is specifically designed to meet the needs of K-12 art educators. Recognizing that art teachers may wish to pursue diverse interests, the program intends to provide as much flexibility aspossible through a large elective component. The mission of the program is three fold: a) to provide growth in the field of art education through exploration of ideas and individual research; b) to enhance skills and knowledge in the making, understanding, and teaching of art; c) to provide an atmosphere that nutures individual pursuits and supports critical aesthetic dialogue about art and the teaching of art.
