Program Description:
At Thomas University the Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling coursework provides rigorous intellectual studies that require creativity, discipline, and personal responsibility. Students learn principles of rehabilitation counseling and demonstrate mastery of knowledge areas through 48 semester hours of coursework. The core requirements include 100 hours of practicum and 600 hours of internship at a variety of community sites in the student's locale. Through classroom, practicum, internships, and community service, the program addresses professional issues and community needs and the needs of persons with disabilities consistent with the program's mission. Accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education, this program prepares students to sit for their Certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) after the degree is awarded and for licensure as a professional counselor (LPC), after completion of post-graduation supervision.
