The Microbiology Program with specialization tracks in Clinical Microbiology, Microbiology Research/Biotechnology, and Infectious Disease Control - offer choices for career specialization. Other highlights include flexible program schedules, professional training for academic credit, and academic preparation for national professional certification.

This program is recognized as a Professional Science Master's degree (PSMs). PSM degrees typically consist of two years academic training in an emerging or interdisciplinary area of science and a professional component that may include internships and “cross-training” in business and communications. PSMs are designed to dovetail into present and future professional career opportunities.
