Program Description:
The Department of Chemistry and Physics provides graduate training through advanced courses, seminars, and research leading to an M.S. degree in chemistry. The objectives of the graduate studies are to train the students to be creative problem solvers in chemistry, leading to the discovery of new chemical knowledge (the research objective), and to educate the students in the methods of disseminating this information to others (the education objective). To meet these objectives, the department requires broad knowledge of fundamental chemical principles and specialized knowledge of advanced topics in the research area.
