The MAT program serves to prepare highly qualified teachers of mathematics at the secondary and two-year college levels. The program has been designed to provide a broad knowledge of mathematics and its history, to teach problem solving skills, and to expose students to the general philosophy of mathematics alongside specific techniques for teaching mathematics.
