The Department of Biology offers outstanding research opportunities in Behavioral Biology, Cell and Developmental Biology, Chronobiology, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Genetics and Genomics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience and Neurobiology, Physiology, Plant Sciences, and Systems Biology and Bioinformatics, working with organisms ranging from viral, fungal, and bacterial model systems to higher and lower plants, invertebrates, and vertebrates. The diverse interests of the Biology faculty foster interdisciplinary research and provide graduate students with a broad perspective on modern biological problems.
