Program Description:
The Department of Physiology offers graduate programs leading to a PhD in Physiology or MD/PhD degree. In addition, the Department of Physiology offers a Masters Program in Physiology. The graduate program provides excellent research opportunities in the fields of:
Cardiovascular physiology
Vascular biology
Neuroimmunophysiology
Pulmonary physiology
Microvascular physiology
Platelet physiology and cellular signaling
Departmental laboratories are well equipped for the pursuit of research and our faculty members use a wide variety of contemporary methodologies and techniques to address issues in system, cellular and molecular physiology. The graduate and postgraduate training program in the Department of Physiology has interdisciplinary research interests with the Cardiovascular Research Center, the Sol Sherry Thrombosis Research Center, and the Cell Signaling Group within the School of Medicine, and offers additional opportunities of research.
