Program Description:
The School of Systems and Enterprises (SSE) at Stevens Institute of Technology was created in response to the tremendous growth and success of the Schaefer School of Engineering’s Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, and in particular the department’s System Design and Operational Effectiveness (SDOE) program. First offered in 2001 to a cohort of industry and government representatives, the program has increased its student enrollment exponentially, and has achieved the distinction of being the largest and most recognized Systems Engineering graduate program in the world.
Utilizing an Open Academic Model, SSE emphasizes global partnerships in research and education with industry and government. We offer several program options in the areas of Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Financial Engineering, Software Engineering, Enterprise Systems, and Space Systems Engineering, including ten Graduate Certificate programs, six Master’s and three Doctoral degrees.
The School of Systems and Enterprises brings together faculty who are industry experts and practitioners, researchers, and academics, to deliver programs that are highly relevant and academically rigorous. While we have academic programs and related alliances with industry leaders such as Lockheed Martin, L3 Communications, Sandia National Laboratories, IBM, NOKIA, ITT, Northrop Grumman, and BAE Systems, we also have long-term relationships with key government agencies such as NSA, FAA, NASA, US Army, and US Navy. SSE also has agreements with academic partners to include the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), Naval Post-Graduate School, Air Force Institute of Technology, Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Embedded Systems Institute (Holland), Buskerud University College (Norway), and Indian Institute of Technology (Bombay, India).
