New Paltz is a public university and can not provide Scholarships and/or Financial aid to non New York residents.Students enrolled in the Elementary Education graduate program leading to a Master ofScience in Elementary Education may choose to concentrate in Early ChildhoodEducation. This early childhood concentration will enhance the student's understandingof how young children, pre-school to third grade, experience and process learning. Thestudent will plan and evaluate appropriate content and learning experiences for thesechildren. In addition, these students also qualify for the Early Childhood annotation tothe certificate. This annotation to the transcript indicates specialization in preschool andprimary grades education. In order for students to qualify for this annotation, they mustbe employed in an appropriate public or non-public school or be available for practicumplacements in appropriate early childhood settings.
