Program Description:

Based in a small city in the centre of the UK, the Philosophy Department at Staffordshire University has a fine and growing reputation for an excellent, focused set of research interests in European Philosophy. We are also known for the care and personal attention we give to all postgraduates, and the informal but rigorous education we provide.

The Department offers a taught Masters (MA) course under the umbrella of Negotiated Studies. This flexible framework permits students to customise their study in interdisciplinary directions (for example, philosophy's relation t literature or literary theory, fine art, film, social theory).

We also offer supervision for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in areas of research specialism of staff. Also, in conjunction with the Fine Art Department, we offer the rare opportunity of supervision for the PhD in Fine Art and Philosophy.
