Program Description:

The Department of Communications Sciences and Disorders at St. John’s University offers a widely respected Master of Arts degree program in Speech-Language Pathology. The 48-credit program provides students with the in-depth academic background and field experience needed to serve as clinicians and researchers.

Accredited by the Council of Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the program is deemed licensure-qualifying by the New York State Board of Professional Licensing of the State Education Department. Along with intensive and challenging courses, students gain clinical experience in the University’s widely respected Speech and Hearing Center, a training facility offering professional diagnostic and remediation services to the local community.

Graduates of the program had a 100% pass rate on the most recent Praxis exam in Speech-Language Pathology; the exam is required for the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence. Graduate of the program also have a 100% employment rate in the profession.
