Program Description:
The Sociology Department at St. John’s University offers a Master of Arts degree in Sociology that prepares students for success as educators, consultants, researchers and professionals in criminal justice or other government agencies.
The program provides students with a thorough understanding of sociology theory and application. Making ample use of the University’s New York City location, the program emphasizes the skills to conduct scholarly research into community and organizational dynamics. Students can choose between a 30-credit thesis or a 33-credit non-thesis option. All students complete a comprehensive written exam.
