Program Description:

China has emerged as an economic, cultural and political powerhouse. The Institute of Asian Studies at St. John’s offers a Master of Arts degree program in Chinese Studies that provides students with a comprehensive knowledge of Chinese language and civilization.

The program has two options: a thesis option, which requires the completion of 33 credits, six of which include master’s research and a written thesis; or a non-thesis option, comprising 33 credits including one of the following courses—ASC 102 (“Great Books from China”) or ASC 300 (“Introduction to Source Materials on China”).
