Program Description:
St. John’s offers a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Biology that provides students with advanced preparation for careers in education, research, the health professions and other fields that require an advanced understanding of biological principles and applications.
The 33-credit program emphasizes research. Students are urged to take at least two semesters of “special research” courses. A formal, written report describing the results of this research is required for each semester.
All students must pass a written comprehensive examination covering current theory, application and research in all areas appropriate to their training and interests. The work students do for their master’s degree offers an outstanding foundation for doctoral study.
