Program Description:

The Master of Science in Criminal Justice program prepares graduates for positions of responsibility in the Criminal Justice System and related areas. The curriculum provides a melding of professionally structured knowledge and the ethical imperatives of Criminal Justice in a constitutional democracy. The program covers courses in understanding of police, courts, corrections, prosecution agencies, and the criminal legal profession as integral components of the criminal justice system. Courses that define leadership and managerial skills appropriate for service in higher echelons of the criminal justice structure are also included. Courses bring together the philosophy of criminal justice, emphasizing the importance of individual rights within the structure and U.S. legal tradition.
