Environmental and Civil Engineering focus on a diverse set of issues including health, pollution prevention and treatment, atmospheric emissions, structural design, and geotechnical engineering. The department's research covers the breadth of these areas, emphasizing health, biological treatment of hazardous waste and wastewater, treatment and decomposition of volatile organic compounds, and the characterization and control of toxic atmospheric plumes and emissions.
