Degree Offered
Master of Arts in Advertising from the Temerlin Advertising Institute at SMU
Format: Campus
Program Description:
All. Together. Now.
There are graduate programs for creativity. There are graduate programs for account planning and management. There are even programs that look at the role of responsible advertising in our culture. Now, finally, there’s a graduate program in advertising designed for all the different people and issues you actually find in advertising. And no matter what discipline interests you most, you need to experience everything it takes to make good advertising happen. What makes this program strong is the intelligent combination of four practice areas -- Account Planning, Account Management, Creative and New Media -- combined with overarching themes of globalization, responsibility and practical experience.
A holistic approach.
The key to the Master of Arts in Advertising at SMU isn’t in the individual courses or even the program of study. It’s the way the program incorporates theory and practice from every major discipline and filters it through the lens of social and corporate responsibility.
The rules have changed.
Technology has shrunk the planet. New economies are emerging by the minute. And companies are more global, mobile, social and responsible. Rules for consumers are changing as well, and so is the way we interact with them. We need to connect with a new consumer in a new marketplace. And we have to recognize that the disciplines of Account Planning, Account Management, Creative and New Media are simply the moving parts that add up to an ever-changing whole.
Tomorrow’s Leaders Are Changing, Too.
They don’t just want jobs — they want meaningful careers. And they want to do great work for the greater good. Advertising needs a new brand of leaders and thinkers. To achieve that we need a new kind of student. You might have a non-traditional background. You’re less interested in titles than results. And you want to use your career to make a difference. If you're that kind of student, then we hope you'll be inspired to lear
