This certificate is a 12-hour program designed to support reading specialist candidates as they develop the skills needed to be effective literacy coaches in K-12 schools. A literacy coach is a reading specialist who provides professional development for teachers by providing them with the additional support needed to implement various instructional programs and practices. They provide essential leadership for the school’s entire literacy program by helping create and supervise a continuous professional development process.
