Program Description:

This innovative course of study emphasizes the application of behavioral principles to solving behavioral problems encountered in human service, educational, counseling, and mental health settings. The faculty prepare students for leadership roles in the implementation, assessment, and administration of behaviorally-based techniques.
The Simmons College master's course sequence in Behavior Analysis is approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and meets the coursework requirements for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst examination. Each program of study is designed individually by the student in consultation with the faculty and can be completed on a parttime basis or in two years of full-time study. The entire program of study is 11 courses (52 credit hours).
Courses include Applied Research, Behavioral Assessment, Methodologies for Changing Behavior, Legal and Ethical Issues, Advanced Applied Behavior Analysis, and Data Collection, Display, and Interpretation.

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of all applicants whose first language is not English. The exam will be waived if the applicant has earned a bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S. institution. Officially translated and evaluated transcripts are required if not originally written in English. Only transcripts translated and evaluated by authorized organizations are accepted. Simmons College prefers either World Education Services (www.wes.org) or the Center for Educational Documentation (www.cedevaluations.com) International students must demonstrate that they have sufficient funds available to meet all the travel, living, and educational expenses for graduate study in the United States.
